Farrier Care

Most of our residents get a simple trim or even wear their hooves naturally by grazing on rocky ground, this saves us a lot of funds on farrier care.

Well, except two of our special needs residents, Welsh pony Bo and mini fluffy pony named Faith. Both came to us with a severe case of laminitis, extremely painful hoof condition where actual hoof and bone can be separated.

For this reason both of them receive extra special farrier care. Faith gets careful trim and Bo gets his metal shoes, so he doesn't have to walk on his actual hooves.

Since we put Bo on horse shoes, he's been doing extremely well. We feel that by doing so, we are extending his life span and extending the amount of love he gives to visitors.

Our farrier comes every 8 weeks, Bo's shoes cost us $320 and Faith's trim is $60.
