about our organization
Donkeys of Pahrump is a small, volunteer-run animal organization in southern Nevada, dedicated to rescuing and caring for donkeys, ponies, mini horses, horses and providing public access to visitors on daily basis to interact with such majestic animals.
What began with a single acre of land and a dream has grown into a safe haven for 7 animals and many happy visitors who come to feed, pet, groom and spend time with all of our residents.

Our journey began in 2023 after a large BLM roundup removed over 100 wild donkeys from the Pahrump area.
Seeing these gentle, intelligent animals displaced inspired us to take action. We adopted our first two donkeys, Daisy and Peaches, from a BLM holding facility—and quickly fell in love. From there, our herd grew, and so did our mission.
Today, we provide a peaceful home to animals with unique medical, behavioral, or emotional needs. Many of our residents are seniors, bonded pairs, or animals with lifelong conditions that require special care. We tailor each animal’s routine to their individual needs, and we pride ourselves on providing not just shelter, but genuine compassion.
We also believe in the power of connection. Our location next to Death Valley Marketplace allows travelers, locals, and volunteers to stop by, meet our residents, and learn about the importance of donkey rescue. We welcome visitors and strive to create a space that fosters understanding, healing, and respect—for both humans and animals.
